Dear Coaches, lifters and family members:

 The hotel room block of 600+ rooms for the Boy/Girl’s High School National Championships that will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel - Orlando International Airport on April 1-3, 2016 is now completely sold out. No more room nights are available at the Hyatt Regency Hotel – Orlando International Airport.

 As an alternative, I’ve contacted with the Hyatt Place Hotel that is exactly one mile away(5-7 minutes) from the Orlando International Airport and blocked an additional 50 rooms per night for $139.00 per night + Tax. With your room at the Hyatt Place Hotel, you will receive the following:

Eligibility Requirements:

Open to all High School Athletes. A qualifying total is required. The qualifying totals can be found here: http://www.usapowerlifting.com/lifters-corner/qualifying-totals/

Important Notes

  • Lifters may lift raw in this equipped competition, so as long as they achieve the required qualifying total.
  • Lifters requiring to qualify after the registration deadline, will be required to register for the competition by the deadline date of March 1. If the athlete fails to make the necessary qualifying total at their qualifier, they will be refunded their entry fee.
  • Freshman and Sophomore lifters may lift in the Varsity Division.

Totals from an IPF, NAPF, or USAPL competition during 2015 or 2016 will be accepted.

Each lifter must be a registered USA Powerlifting member. USA Powerlifting Memberships can be found on line here: http://www.usapowerlifting.com/membership-application/

8:30 to 9:00 am – Rules briefing and/lifter warm-up
9:00 to 1:00 pm – Competition lifting
1:00 to 2:00 pm – Awards presentation / Drug-testing protocol

Session II
12:00 to 1:30 pm – Weigh-in/Equipment check for Men’s Junior Varsity weight classes: 52.00kg to 125.00+kg

Sunday April 3, 2016

Session I
7:00 to 8:30 am – Weigh-in/Equipment check for women’s weight class: 67.50kg to 90.00+kg
8:30 to 9:00 am – Rules briefing and/lifter warm-up
9:00 to 1:00 pm – Competition lifting
1:00 to 2:00 pm – Awards presentation / Drug-testing protocol

Session II
12:00 to 1:30 pm – Weigh-in/Equipment check for men’s weight classes: 82.50kg to 125.00+kg
1:30 to 2:00 pm – Rules briefing and/lifter warm-up
2:00 to 5:00 pm – Competition lifting
5:00 to 6:00 pm – Awards presentation / Drug-testing protocol

Awards:

Awards will be presented to the 1st – 5th place finishers for each weight class and division. Outstanding lifter awards will be presented to the best lifter in the men/women’s JV and Varsity. The overall best lifter award for each category will be determined by the IPF Wilks Formula. Team awards will be presented in the men/women’s JV and Varsity Divisions. Team championship scoring will be in accordance to the USAPL Rules. Commemorative participation certificates will be given to all lifters that take part in the championship.

USA Powerlifting – Who We Are!!

USA Powerlifting (formerly American Drug Free Powerlifting Association, Inc.) is the national governing body for the sport of powerlifting in the United States. USA Powerlifting is a member of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), the governing body of powerlifting internationally.

The IPF is comprised of member federations of 100+ countries on six continents. USA Powerlifting, through its affiliation with the IPF, also sends a national team to participate in the World Games. The World Games is an international multi-sports event hosted by the International World Games Association (IWGA) that falls under the direct patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The event consists of official sports and demonstration sports selected from those not included in the Olympic Games. The Games are held every fourth year, following the year of the Summer Olympics.
